Constructed of materials with an American domestic value of at least 70%, the New Balance 996 MiUSA Gray Silver was released during one of New Balance���s iconic Gray Days, days in May when the sneaker company celebrates the color that has become their hallmark.
The neutral colorway of this shoe begins with a base of grayish-taupe mesh that offers breathable comfort. Suede overlays in a lighter grayish-taupe shade adorn the toecap, midfoot, side panel, eyestays, and heel. A strip of peachy-tan suede provides contrast at the collar. A molded cream-colored heel counter sports New Balance branding, as it provides rear foot stability. The midsole constructed with ENCAP cushioning in shades of white and taupe features soft foam circled by a firmer polyurethane rim for support. The outsole in black and gray rubber has both lugs and grooves for absorbing impact and providing grip.
